Melts come in various colors to support or match the scent they represent. Various shades or colors can represent a scent, or same scent (ie: Apple can be green or red, etc.). This does not impact the performance of the melt.
Can be used with various wax warmers, electric or tealight, for best use ensure melt is heated enough to produce a good melted pool, this may require a 25 watt bulb in electric warmers. Size of melt pool can affect the scent produced from the tart.
Each fragrance shot wax chunk varies in how long they last and personal preference of smell. Environment, wax warmer, and sense of smell can impact wax tart scent throw or duration of fragrance. 
Wax holds a maximum of 10% fragrance, double and triple scented labeling is simply marketing and may not be as high as 10%, and most wax does not hold more than 10% fragrance without use of additional additives.
